About
The Full Story
Kendra took her first riding lesson when she was 7 years old and from that moment on, she was hooked. For the last 26 years Kendra has been involved in horses in some way shape or form. From lessons, to horse ownership, to college, to eventually making her passion for all things equine her full time profession. Kendra first fell in love with the Friesian breed in 2008 at Equine Affaire after watching a demonstration on the breed. At that time, she made it a goal to own one. She purchased her first Friesian in March of 2015. A beautiful coming 3 year old Mintse 384 mare, Merida of Sea Chanty Farm. She was bred by Susan Porter, a well know Friesian breeder in the US. When Kendra bought her she also formed a beautiful friendship with Susan. Susan became a mentor to Kendra and took her under her wing teaching her all she knew about Friesians and breeding. That moment Kendra knew that not only did she want to own a Friesian, she also wanted to breed them. Kendra's passion for the breed quickly took over and she strove to learn all she could about all the factors that go into breeding a quality Friesian. Kendra's second Friesian came into her life on Valentine's Day of 2018. A long trip to Canada brought Rosie de la Chevalerie, a 17hh Fridse 423 mare, home. Merida has since given Kendra one colt and Rosie has given her two fillies and one colt. In 2022 Susan allowed Kendra to acquire one of her Kroon mares eggs. Kendra crossed Evita ISF Kroon with Alwin 469 Sport Preferent to produce via embryo transfer her dream filly, Zaria of Windy Hollow Farm. Kendra prides herself in choosing crosses with KFPS stallions that not only maintain the integrity and health of the Friesian breed but also creates a wonderful saddle horse for both the show ring and the family farm. She loves being able to make the Friesian dreams of others come true. Kendra loves instilling a love of horses in the younger generation and enjoys providing a safe place for them to call home.
